Every child begins life with a drop of silver. And for many that's the last drop of silver they ever get. Yet, silver is reported as being effective against over 150 strains of bacteria, viruses, yeasts, and fungi. Colloidal Silver  natural antibiotics are also reported to be taken internally for colds, flu, and other infections. It may also be used topically for fungi, rashes, cuts, as eye drops, and to prevent infection. 

However, in the July 3rd 2003 issue of Prevention Magazine on page 26 a short article appears entitled, "Silver cure-All?"  Maryann Weiss, Hempsted, NY says, "No way. And what claim sthey are--everything from fighting 650 infectious conditions to cancer, dandruff, cavities, and the bubonic plague!  
I would agree that claims to cure such conditions with colloidal silver are quite extraordinary.  The black plague is a bacterium named Yersinia pestis. In searching the web, I haven't found any sites with claims that colloidal silver or colloidal minerals will cure or should be used for curing or treating the plague. In searching the web for dandruff, there are sites listed for dandruff. One of which states that it is not suggesting that colloidal silver is a cure for dandruff, however, it gives two testimonies from people who have had beneficial results from using colloidal silver to fight their own conditions of dandruff where medicated shampoo such as Head and Shoulders failed them.  
Rich Cleland of the Federal Trade Commission in the Prevention article states  "It's bogus," and makes note that his agency has instituted several cases against web sites selling the product. 
The article also makes reference that the FDA has labeled colloidal silver as unsafe and claims that ingesting it over long periods of time leads to argyria--a skin condition that turns the skin (usually around the nose and mouth), permanently blue. Prevention advisor, Andrew Weil, MD states, "Those affected  are described as looking like corpses come to life."  

And we could go on and also note that a major cause of death in this country is iatrogenic (physician related)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 2 million people annually acquire infections while hospitalized and 90,000 people die from those infections. More than 70 percent of hospital-acquired infections have become resistant to at least one of the drugs commonly used to treat them, largely due to the overprescribing of antibiotics by physicians. Staph, the leading cause of hospital infections, is now resistant to 95 percent of first-choice antibiotics and 30 percent of second-choice antibiotics. Poor staff hygiene is considered the leading source for infections acquired during hospitalizations.
